September in-person events in Berlin: Sinnessafari Stadtnatur & DIY bath salts

I’m happy to share I will be offering 2 in-person events in Berlin this month: a “sensory nature tour” on the 9th and a bath salt-making workshop on the 16th. Details of each event follow.

Sinnessafari Stadtnatur / Sensory Nature Tour - 9.9.23, 15.00-16.00, Lohmühlenplatz - Landwehrkanal

If you’ve been to one of my herb walks in the past, you know that my approach is hands on! For me it’s much less about pointing and peering, i.e. “that plant over there is called X” than getting to know the plants... up close and personal. This sensory walk will encourage you to sniff flowers and rub leaves, pet hairy stems and yes, sometimes even taste the plants! Other activities may include touching and smelling the soil, listening to the crows and imagining yourself as a tree.

Speaking of trees, this walk is officially on the programme of Baumscheibenfest: a street fair in Kungerkiez (Alt-Treptow) celebrating the urban folk art of beautifying tree squares. These “micro gardens” also happen to be the subject of my current research project ... more on that in a future blog post. For now, let’s just say it’s a win-win for me to be there. If you’d like to join, please sign up via this registration form.

Make your own bath salts - 16.9.23, 12.00-15.00, Studio Nagelneu

Making bath salts is fun and easy!

In this workshop you will learn how to combine salts with herbs and essential oils to support your well-being.

Even if you don’t have a bathtub, you can use bath salts in foot baths or hand baths. You can also use bath salts as a body scrub.

There will be a few types of bath salts to try. Please bring a small jar (max 150 g) to take some bath salts home with you.

Donation €10 (materials included)
